Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Sidha or Unani practitioners are not "quacks" by any stretch of imagination.

My concern is it may encourage more people to become quack doctors just to enter the scheme. In addition training in basic medicine will not mean it is still safe for them to practice as doctors as they will still have little actual knowledge and experience.

Are we trying to turn the clock backward? What about all those folks who go through academic rigor to get a legitimate degree. We are living in the 21st century and there is no scope for fake medicine.

govt should not be telling whats good and whats bad for us.
people should check for themselves whether they want to be treated by someone or not

Firstly homeopaths & ayurved s are not quacks. They have to pass a 5 year course degree equivalent to Mbbs. Only the therapy part they learn is different from allopaths in MBBS. Quacks are those who don't have any theoretical knowledge of human anatomy physiology and medical biochemistry. They usually seen have been earlier assistant to qualified Dr, noted medications they use for common ailments and emulate them. A 100 day course can never make them equipped enough. Need is to open hospitals and healthcentres at all villages and make qualified Drs reach there. Afterall the Drs get educated at taxpayers money. So its their moral obligation to payback. However people do shy away from same so better to enforce a 5 year period where every Dr has to go & provide treatment at village level.
