First of all, it feels good to read something about the Indian mythology other than Ramayana and Mahabharata being told in form of a story. This is a very well written book about the primal gods Indra, Varun, Vayu, Agni and Soma and how they become the gods from their simple and humble beginings.
It takes us to Central Asia which have the origins of early Aryan Civilisation, where these gods were born their early struggles and then somewhat takes the route of Aryan Invasion Theory to make these gods travel first to central Asia their battles there and then ultimately to the subcontinent. It also tries and incorporate which many theologists believed that Shiva was the original god of Indian subcontinent and how he got integrated into being one of the Aryan gods
Well crafted and pacy; this book would keep you engrossed till the very end and would provide a window into early civilisations and who are these gods that we worship each day. So if you are into Mytho-Fantasy this book would be worth a read.....
